ScintiStar detector employs rare-earth-based ceramic material which has a cubic garnet crystal structure, leading to a superior sensitivity to X-ray with visible light conversion rate increasing by 150 times compared to GOS and low afterglow. It allows to acquire more data per rotation while generate less electronic noise, and therefore delivers high-resolution images.
Anti-scattering grid (ASG) plays a key role in detector’s sampling due to the fact that it is able to effectively absorb the scattering X-ray. Unlike the traditional design of ASG that adjacent modules share the same grid, MinFound EAA ASG utilizes separate grid between adjacent modules, significantly reducing the possible expansion of the grid caused by the heat, thus decreasing the presence of artifacts in images.
ScintiStar detector integrates ASG, scintillator array, photodiode and ASIC chip into a compact module masterfully. This design helps facilitate a superior signal-to-noise ratio and enable further modularized maintenance as well.
